Greg Hill Joins Suunto USA Athlete Team

We at Suunto USA are thrilled to announce the addition of record-setting skier and mountaineer Greg Hill to our professional athlete team. Greg will represent Suunto’s outdoor category of wristop computers.

In 2010, as a part of his “Greg Hill 2 Mil” campaign, Greg became the first person to log two million vertical feet of ski-touring in one year. He used Suunto altimeter/barometer/compass watches to record his altitude during more than 266 days of climbing and skiing. Averaging 7,570 feet per day, Greg climbed 71 peaks and logged 77 days of more than 10,000 vertical feet.

Greg is setting up his profile on Suunto’s online sports community, Movescount.com, where he will upload workouts, track fitness progress and connect globally with other online members. He will use Suunto training wristops to gear up for the grueling ski season and maintain his fitness level during the winter schedule. He’ll use Suunto altimeter, barometer, compass watches to log his vertical feet hiked and skied, and to monitor weather trends for backcountry safety.

“In addition to his skill as an alpinist, Greg brings passion and inspiration to the Suunto team,” says Chris McKearin, Suunto Consumer Marketing and Events Coordinator. “He’s an accomplished athlete and outdoorsman who can motivate other enthusiasts in their own adventures. Trusting Suunto to log his accomplishment of two million vertical feet, we’re proud that Greg has been a Suunto user even before this official partnership.”

Thanks for being part of the family, Greg. Welcome aboard.
Oh! And big congrats to Greg for being chosen as one of Skiing Mag's Skiers of the Year.
