Suunto athlete Javier Gomez won the
2012 XTERRA World Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua on the island of Maui recently. Gomez completed the 1.5K swim, 30K mountain bike and 10K in 2:26:54 with the second place winner coming in nearly a full minute after Gomez.
The Xterra World Championship consisted of 750 athletes from around the world, competing in a "tropical roller coaster" to swim, run and bike race through Hawaii's pineapple field and forests.
