Suunto athletes Matty Reed and Jenny Fletcher competed this past weekend at the St. Anthony's Triathlon in Florida. Both athletes competed very well and have written about their weekend. Here are a few excerpts.
Jenny Fletcher:
I just completed my 3rd race as a PRO at one of the largest races of the year.... St. Anthony's! Can I tell you what it feels like to be standing at the swim start next to 2 of my idols in the sport of Triathlon Laura Bennett and Mirinda (Rini) Carfrae.... AMAZING... these are girls I trained with in Australia and are 2 of the best in the world. I had such a great experience here. The race itself is one of top races to race of the season. With it's rough choppy waters to the technical bike because there is wind and a lot of corners to a flat run that somehow gets me every year with the heat and wind. I am so thrilled with my 11th place finish overall in the Pro field!
Matty Reed is coming off a huge year last year and is finding the beginning of his season a bit trying. Reed finished 5th overall in Florida and explains some of his frustrations.
I am training hard & just need some time. I am sure the power will come back soon -2 weeks -a month I'm not sure. St Anthony's was disappointing as I put myself where I needed to be out of the swim and got on the bike and was going nowhere fast. I am back on my training schedule and just can't rush it. I Have another important race at Knoxville Rev3 in 2 weeks and will race 100%.
Suunto is proud of both athletes for their efforts this past weekend. Keep up the good work and we look forward to following you through the season!
